Lyla’s Chocolates – rich, sensuous, and wickedly delicious.
Lisa Lerner, Swiss-trained pastry chef and former head baker of renowned Cocolat, came to the East Bay in 1979 and created a line of luxurious chocolates using a secret blend of the finest Belgium and domestic covertures. Lisa Lerner Chocolates renowned crème fraiche truffles, luxuriously enrobed Villettes™, and grahams dripping in chocolate, represent timeless, simple elegance.
Across the Bay in Mill Valley, a little friendly competition was brewing. In 1980, locally trained Lyla Kraft began making small batches of handmade, artisan truffles, assorted chocolates and molded creations of every imaginable variety. She was determined to introduce the North Bay to her passion – intensely bittersweet chocolate that captured the essence of chocolate. For 27 years, Lyla’s Chocolates was a Mill Valley community treasure and destination site for customers from all over the world.
In 2003 we brought together the best of the Bay Area – Lyla’s Chocolates and Lisa Lerner Chocolates; and in June of 2007 changed from a physical retail store to an online destination. The rest as they say is history.
Today, our chocolatiers continue the tradition of making small batches of hand crafted chocolates using only the most luxurious milk and dark covertures and freshest ingredients. No preservatives, ever. On a daily basis, we create exciting new sensations: On a daily basis our kitchen creates exciting sensations: truffles in 12 flavors and 3 sizes, Villettes™; Grahams dripping in rich chocolate; creamy homemade nut and no nut fudge; Bark; molded pieces; candy bars; and a cornucopia of assorted chocolates.
